Delicious pies!
Finally got a chance to stop by today and I was really glad I did! The Chicken pie brought back memories of younger days and having the pies out and ready to heat meant we were in and out in a flash. Can't wait to go back!
I hate that I am just now trying these delicious, wonderful, warm-the-tummy-and-the-heart pies! We live in the neighborhood forever and had never been brave enough to go in! Today was different though, maybe because my mom was with me, I had the eggs and veggies pie, and my mom had the zucchini and mushroom pie! They were so good, it's definitely homemade and fresh! Oh, and the person who was behind the counter was awesome! Great customer service. Thank you!
Cute little spot. Really enjoyed their classic thai chicken soup, delicious and their empanadas are super fresh & tasty !!
There are yummy pies here you eat with your hands including some vegan ones.
The perfect last minute substitute to a home-cooked dinner. Very tasty, healthy and diverse yummy pockets.
Delicious, lots of flavor and choices, hand held yummy little pies!
Oh my goodness this place was super delicious! Why didn't I buy more!?! My favorite was by far the garbanzo bean curry, but the spinach and feta was also delicious! I wish this was closer to my home. I'd here at least once a week!
If you live in the sunset this is the perfect neighborhood spot on a lazy weekend. No lines. Just a good breakfast to relax
Excellent food and soup. Vegan friendly.
These pies are straight up amazing. I had the spinach and feta. Hearty and delicious. Very filling. I also tried the savory sausage. The dough they use is great, similar to pizza dough. You need this place in your life, trust me.
Fantastic pies! A little expensive but worth it, the garbanzo bean and curry pie is delicious
This review is mainly for the pies. I went here twice and took it to go both times. The pies were delicious. I particularly like their spinich and feta cheese pie and clam pie.
Super friendly staff and delicious pies and soups. Prices are reasonable. Great for a quick bite when you're in a hurry.
I like portable food, and this place does it well. The sweet pies are the standouts: sweet potato, pear crumble and chocolate flan. Of the savory variations, the ham, egg and cheese is probably the tastiest option. The pies are simple, fresh and wholesome.
I like it that there are savory pie options for plant-based folks: garbanzo curry, lentil & yam, and eggplant curry with veggies. The latter is my favorite cuz it's juicy. Would give a five star if they had vegan sweet pies as well.
Be it a sweet pie or a savoury one they are awesome. Excellent value for money plus there is a small amount of seating inside. Well worth a visit if you in the area.
Absolutely AMAZING. I dropped by and bought a blueberry custard tart, ate it, and then went back to buy 4 more for my family. LOVE this place
I used to LOVE Peasant Pies for its huge vegetarian selection. Sadly, the balance has tipped to more meat than veggie pies/empanadas these days. I'd come here far more often if the balance tipped back. Unfortunately, this seems to be the way things are going in SF these days.
Delicious pies and scrumptious little tarts. Perfect snacks or lunch options on the go. I end up stopping by whenever I happen to be in the neighborhood.
I had the classic chicken, and spinach & feta cheese pies. It was so good. The sweet pies were sold out, will have to try again earlier next time.
What a strange concept to have survived the test of time. They make small savory and sweet desert pies that don’t really suffice a proper lunch and don’t merit they’re own desert shop. It’s really a bizarre duality that manage to somehow cancel each other’s shortcomings. For some strange reason I want them to continue to succeed, to prove that anything, given the right combination of chaos, can survive in this place.
A super cute quick eat in noe valley! Came with a group of 6 on a Saturday afternoon with no line.Food: I got the vegan yam pie and it was actually really good and just the right portion size! It is not super filling but is really savory and a interesting combination of ingredients. Service: They heat up the pies right after you choose them so it’s cool to see the pies then come out steaming hot! Super appetizing.Ambiance: Really nice coffee shop vibes and there are nice photos hanging on the walls. I would want to work here for longer since the sun splashes on you. Overall a cheap eat and a cute ambiance! Lots of variety.
We've been coming here for years! The Delicious Pies are perfect for No Mess Neal's. Sometimes we get them on our way out of town for a long car ride. My personal favorites are the cauliflower Masala and chicken curry empañadas. My son is partial to the egg and veggie and my wife and daughter love the Moroccan lentil and yam. Their dessert pies are also super scrumptious. They are also great for a "walking brunch" around Noe Valley. Get a Pioneer hand and a coffee in the other and stroll around the neighborhood.
Amazing! Delicious pies, great prices, great service
Nice change of pace for snack foods. Pies look small but are packed with filling and surprisingly hearty. All quite tasty but nothing outstanding about the flavors (I tried the Basque Beef and BBQ Pork and cabbage)
I bought a Groupon deal and showed up with the coupon and ordered my chicken & potatoes combo. I received two aluminum trays of food and we had a feast at work. The chicken was very good and the potatoes were delicious too. I enjoyed the food very much and the no hassle get my food quick process.
A quick and go-to feel-good pie shop. Seemingly small but very filling and delicious! Great variety, I love their veggie and vegan pies
Perfect! Visiting SF for 24 hours, we tried Peasant Pies at 10AM on Thursday on our walk to GG Park. I had the Zucchini and Mushroom Pie. Perfect size, perfectly heated. Nice big chunks of zucchini in a delicate sauce. I was worried about it being spicy and was tickled to find it was Not! My niece had a vegan selection which she said was very good too.
A nice place to get warm pies! Very friendly staff and convenient.
My favorite pie right now is the pie of the month! If your in the neighborhood! stop by & try it! it's real good! oh! & the chicken pie now called chicken pot pie has improved, it taste better than ever! my other two favorites are ham egg & cheese & the beef potato 🥔 pie, plus the dough for all the savory & vegan pies have a better taste than before! As for the sweet pies my all time favorite is the pear 🍐 crumble, hands down the best pies you'll taste in SF, plus they fit in your hand, you don't need forks or spoons to eat these, just pick one up & enjoy.
The concept is simple and beautiful, the menu is simple, the food is delicious, the prices are great, this is an awesome place
Vanilla flan = good; gonna get againPumpkin = good; gonna get 2x next timeNot five stars because I didn't try the chicken nor beef pies yet
Pies, pies, PIES! There are like 15 types of savory pies and 6-7 sweet pies. There are always a couple of seasonal flavors as well. I tried the pumpkin and sweet potato (what can I say, I like fall). Both were good, but the sweet potato was my favorite. It had a hint of ginger and that made it awesome. Definitely want to come back and try the savory pies.
Absolutely loved it! The pies were delicious and a good, quick snack before actual lunch. Theres a good selection of vegetarian and vegan pies in comparison to the meat pies. Definitely would go again to try the other vegan pies.
We’ve been a couple times since moved to the neighborhood. Great stuff! We’ve only had savory pies so far, but have been very happy with them. Breakfast pie was a nice treat on a cold morning!
Delicious! Love the regular pies--and it's fun seeing what new specials come along. Friendly service.
Small, local shop for meat pies. I had a savory breakfast pie and a sweet potato dessert pie. Oh my God I was not expecting it to be SO GOOD. My friend and I were blown away. We originally planned on each getting one but had to get a second they were so good. We stopped here for a quick bite while doing all day sight seeing as we wanted something quick that we could walk with. Such a good choice.
On days I feel OK to eat carbs - ~$4 puffy tarts of joy - yes please.
They serve hand sized pies for about $5 as well as soups. There are vegetarian options too. Service was friendly and they warm up the pies before serving them to you. I'm a decent sized guy. I had a pie and soup and was satisfied but not full.
I've tried every pie here. They are all excellent. My personal favorites though are:1. The Basque Beef2. The one with lentils in it3. The Chicken and PotatoThey go great with coffee and make for a hearty breakfast, but you can enjoy the savory pies any time.
Excellent pies! The chocolate flan is silky milk chocolate heaven. Pies cost $4.65. I really appreciate that they let me take the pies home in my own container.
Awesome n perfect size travel!!!
Love the pies.. Every time I'm in SF stopping by @ peasant pies is on my to do list.
Peasant pies has been a staple in the neighborhood for decades. The delectable little pies are a perfect little snack or great option for breakfast. They have numerous vegetarian options as well. Staff is always friendly and willing to give recommendations.
Yummy little savory and sweet tarts that make for a perfect lunch.I'll be back for more
Very quick, simple and tasty. No frills place with very friendly staff. One of the more inexpensive places, and good combo deals (small pie and soup or salad for $8). I haven't tried their sweet pies but they looked more like small tarts-but if they were as filling as their savory pies they are probably perfectly filling.
I’ve purchased their product for years, but the price listed here is $3.65 a savory pie. In reality, they are $4.65* *more for seafood pies.
Good pies!
I love this place. Quaint French/America place with delicious savory pies that are great for quick bites or bringing to a licknic because they are so portable. They also have really good desert pies / flans.
